A good thread this and whilst I quite like the suggested line up and alternatives thus far the term "All Time" can't surely apply to some of those listed.
Subjective I know and the OP's team is decent and age does factor as the game has changed, so not a criticism but without delving really far back (even for me) and picking Risman or Sullivan at FB based on the record books (Wellens pfftt)....then here's a few that must feature or at least be under consideration for my twopenneth.
Clive Sullivan Billy Boston John Bevan
Alex Murphy Roger Millward Vince Karalius
Yeah, I just chose from players since I've been watching Rugby League, which began at the back end of the 80s.
Most of the great players of the late 80s and early 90s all played down under at some point, that's why most of my team is made up from the Super league era.
I probably did make an error in my team by putting Roby in instead of Cunningham, because I probably think Cunningham was slightly the better player. But Roby is also very worthy of a place.
If I was to choose my all tim Great Britain team, it would probably look something like this.
Sam Tomkins
Jason Robinson
Kallum Watkins
Keith Senior
Martin Offiah
Garry Schofield
Andy Gregory
James Graham
Keiron Cunningham
Andy Platt
Andy Farrell
Sam Burgess
Ellery Hanley
With a bench of
Stuart Fielden
Denis Betts
James Roby
Gary Connally
I think that team has good balance, speed, skill, mental strength, power, determination, creativity and leadership. With some intensity coming from the bench.
I'd be happy to take on the Aussies with that team.
