FRI 11/9/09 The Manchester Evening News state that after tonights game against Leeds Rhinos Scott Naylor will be leaving the Willows coaching staff. I must say I'm rather suprised at this but does this now signal the time when Malcolm Alker becomes more involved away from the playing side of things Anyway I would just like to say I will miss seeing Scott Naylor around the place and I would like to wish him all the best in his next appointment in the game. Here

Is this a sign McRae is trying to get his own staff around him?

Naylor went once before (around the time Harrison was sacked)

Thanks for all he has done and await a new appointment with interest

As I understand it Scott Naylor was brought back to the Willows by Karl Harrison to do a job as a player and help out with the coaching side of things.

Just before Karl left the club he either sacked Scott Naylor or Scott left of his own accord and when Karl finally left the club Scott was brought back into his previous position.

Scott deserves a vote of thanks for all the hours that he has put in over the years and hopefully he has something else lined up.

He came back as a coach only and didn't play! He retired playing for Bradford in 2003.

Scott provided us with one of the most memorable moments in recent history, so will forever be a true Salford great in my books.

2004 Superleague 1X

Scott Naylor Played 8 matches in total( 7 in Superleague + 1 other)

Scott resigned for Salford City Reds 10 November 2003 and he had retired at Bradford but was asked to help us out.

If only he would have passed the ball in the semi instead of trying to run through the full back, one of my memories of Scott, but good luck in your next venture.

TBF Sovatuba was a poor defender and Naylor was next to impossible to stop from that distance. I doubt Sovatuba ever made a tackle of that quality after that match.

Not the way I saw it on either of your accounts, he only had to fall over the line and it was a try, cost us a trip to Wembley but a nice bloke all the same.
