Lowes Out Hanley In wrote:
I think the title says it all.

Personally I cant wait till 2009 is over and alot of these drunkards are out of contract and dispatched elsewhere.

Hanley is needed and needed fast, he will sort the wheat from the chaff.

Show no mercy Ellery lad.

Do you seriously believe that even Hanley has the ability to turn around this shower of poop around and turn them into matchwinners?

Do you think he will get rid of the drinking culture that embodies the club currently?

No chance at all.

No doubt these "superstars" were out beering it up again just like they were doing last week after the Catalans game.

I don't think you can blame a drinking culture on what we have seen for the last 7 games, it goes much deeper than that. The whole culture of the club needs to change and that needs to be done through strong leadership and a very strong coach. The board need to appoint someone with vision.

Nonsense. We need a thoroughly professional, highly-paid coach who is in it for money and bonuses achieved when he brings success to the club. Plenty of passion will come along with that. The sort of coach who 'will not be in it for the money' will be found coaching in the amateur leagues.

By the way, Ellery 'I'm the daddy' Hanley is not a thoroughly professional coach, just a fine ex-player with minimal coaching ability.

THE PLAYERS ARE NOT PERFORMING!!!

Basic player mistakes and player errors are costing Jimmy Lowes his job. I suspect tactical play developed in training has not yet been employed due to the wire playing on the back foot during most of the last three games.

It appears Jimmy is backing his players to the hilt, as you would expect. Obviously staying cool under pressure ensuring a ‘no panic’ mentality is Jimmy’s style, nothing wrong with that.

Additional unnecessary pressure added by Skent, with his probing questions to Jimmy is not helpful to Warrington. Cracks are obviously apparent with Jimmys uncomfortable demean during the interviews…. Skent to Jimmy is the BBC to Alex Ferguson.

The players need to look at themselves in the mirror and ask are they giving everything?

On a positive note the players Jimmy has brought in are performing. Higham and Carvell a pair that Jimmy can build on.

The old guard need to play catch up and produce an effort in line with Jimmys new recruits.

COME ON THE WIRE!!!!

Thnx Jimmy, nice post, good to see you on here.

I'll start by saying that Hanley wouldn't be my choice, just to be clear. I'm well & truly in the 'Get Tony Smith at all costs' camp.

What I will say on the Hanley issue, is that off field stuff, I'd back him to make inroads. He'll ruffle & few feathers do doubt, bruise a few egos, and you'd have to have a strong boardroom to back his decisions, but I do think he'd tackle those issues head on. It's the onfield stuff that would worry me about Ellery, does he have the knowledge of SL to make us a top team, Wigan fans for example think Noble is behind the times (I don't), and he won it 3 years ago. Hanley has been out of top flight RL for so long, does he have the tactical nous needed at this level ?

I'd prefer Tony Smith over Hanley myself, but if the rumours are true and he is due to come in next year, after what I've witnessed over the last 3 games, I just hope he isn't having second thoughts.

I think Hanley wouldn't take any prisoners and there are a lot of ego's there that do need to be bruised, and feathers that need to be ruffled. Obviously the way things are, it will take a lot of work.

JWP wrote:

That's where the issue lies. I don't think Warrington have a strong boardroom, so if Hanley does come in and wants to sweep out all the crap that currently infests our club, I think he will find opposition from the Ivory Towers brigade.

Noble is a very good coach. Yep, he won it three years ago, but he's also coached in 6 Grand Finals, IIRC. He also has experience in international coaching aswell. He has the ability to get something, but I don't think he will give up on Wigan to come to Warrington.

At the moment, with the way things stand, it's going to be Lowes for the rest of the season, and then a few months of kneeling down on the floor, hands clasped together and praying to the man upstairs that Lowes will bugger off and Tony Smith will take over.

right off I'll admit I'm no fan of the wire but I have seen quite a few of their games and one of the biggest factors in your demise in my opinion is Lee Briers, can someone please tell me what he's given you for the last couple of years? He seems to be fire proof, almost untouchable and always selected, I reckon he's the catalyst for the clubs problems both on and more crucially off the field.

If Tony Smith does come in next season, I think it will take him a good couple of years to rectify things.
