Any press conference with any kind of real information they and wakefield bring on the subject is overwhelmingly negative. They then balance that with empty promises and no hard facts on all the others claiming they're still on course. This is an empty promise with nothing solid whatsoever.

A report this week claimed Salford might seek a groundshare with Championship club Leigh to ensure they meet minimum standards in time but Wilkinson insists that is wide of the mark.

Wilkinson added: "It is not something we would consider and I can assure you I have not spoken to anyone at Leigh. I don't think anyone at Leigh has spoken to anyone here either."

Allowing Salford to share Leigh's stadium so that they don't get thrown out of Superleague when Leigh also have designs on a franchise would be tantamount to turkeys voting for christmas, wouldn't it?

If Salford are playing Saints at LSV in a Friday/Saturday, and Leigh are playing Batley on Sunday, how many spectators may think I'll go and watch a SuperLeague game this week and give Sunday a miss. This will only reduce Leigh attendance even more than it is now.
