Let me get this right.......

If Leeds were at home to Rochdale (say), and there were 10000 on of which 9500 were season ticket holders, then Rochdale would barely get a penny from the gate?



Kind of puts to bed the idea that a good cup draw away to one of the big teams is a waste of time.

The point being that any Championship club facing decent SL opposition would be expecting some kind of decent pay day as they will not make it through to any other round!

Thinking about it, the season tickets have been paid for based on games included (eg 3rd or 4th round of CC) and then discounted. Therefore I would think an amount per ticket used has to be allocated as paid on the day. I am sure someone would correct me if I am wrong.

I'd think that would be how it works, as you say season ticket holders don't really get a 'free' game it's just included in the original price.
