Never mind that how the hell are they getting under the Salary cap, Grand Finalists don't come cheap.

Indeed, they've had 1 home gate with a crowd above a 1000. Most are around the 500/600 mark, a little like Batley's crowds. Would they be able to sign a 2008 NRL Grand Finalist - NO. They are just one of many teams in Yorkshire.

Our league's Salary cap is no more than 50% of the club's income, but if you work out a 'projected' income, but it eventually falls below that, it protects you from a points deduction, that's what Leigh did a couple of years ago, and copped a £5000 fine. What do they class as income ? In Gateshead's case, it must be 'financial backing'.

Thats just it, its not simple, also the RFL put in statements which mean they can change them or override them for certain circumstances.
