SPORT magazine has gone to the wall.
317k circulation, had a £20k page rate..............gone...no more....fin!
so, what are we doing to encourage other free sheets to do business????????????

can't say I'll miss it. The whole thing was a too unfocused. What was it aboutband why would younread it each week. Nibs on federer and features on kayaking is a sure way to fail. Theres defo a Market for a London sport mag/ website

Too obviously advertorial for me. Sponsors decided who went in, sport didn't come into it. Hence, huge Union coverage even for the useless EDF Cup, b*gger all League.

Couldn't care if people liked it or not.......317,000 verified distribution....that's 27,000 more than the Evening Standard and it was FREE. I have always said there is only room for 1 evening free sheet....and they are both currently dying on their feet with regard to revenues, so why are we not cutting deals with these people now. As for the other morning mag, Shortlist, this still boasts a VFD figure of 500,000......their tag line is "for men with more than one thing on their mind" and they are the largest mens mag in the UK..........SURELY we can get some sort of coverage/competition going with them.......before they start laying people off as well. If we promote ourselves as a potential future revenue stream, they will pay attention..........

Out of interest, why wouldn't you spend 25k on a full page colour ad in the London Metro (750k distributed plus second/third readers etc)?

They are given out as freebies at London Underground Stations on Thursdays(Shortlist) and Fridays(Sport)...Both until now have been around for quite a while..
