Go back to the days of winter rugby and 99% of forwards had a fair amount of grease on them particularly when playing on hard grounds. I suspect it was more to do with the surface than anything else. There's a picture of Kevin Ward coming out of the tunnel at Knowsley Road back in the 80's covered in the stuff.
No complaints from me about the defeat, apologies for the few knobheads that seem to latch onto Wakefield particularly on awaydays.
