I wondered what the commotion was with the players group photo and him leading the team off the pitch. Until reading this thread I had no idea that was the reason and seriously wonder why the club can't inform the fans of such news. Very glad in hindsight, to have shook him by the hand after the game (along with Olsi & Dan) and to offer congratulations on a massive step up in performance from last weeks tonking.

The way some supporters have gone this season, they are not willing to see facts, but just want to be critical.

Dorny did an amazing job with Chad & the Under 19's this season, he so enjoyed his work with them.

Sad news, agree with almost eveyone here, a great player and a good man. And he still can turn it on, he just is sorrounded by dross - poor of the club not to let us know, i might have made the effort to go if i had known!

Mate of mine has a lad in the u19's who says Dorn is an excellent coach, he did a few sessions with the u17s initially and the lads were really impressed by him. Pity we can't keep him on in a coaching role.

A good coach perhaps and also a good player in the past. However he's been poor this season, he's far from the only one but it maybe a good time to wish him a fond farewell.

He looked desperate to end on a high last night, he really put himelf about.

I've always liked Dorn, he's a try scorer, but am not neccesarily surprised he's moving on. He's a charismatic, popular guy, he's not one I would have picked out as an ideal coach but it's great that he has been involved.

I haven't seen him play that well all season, maybe longer. Which begs a few questions. I wouldn't be applauding any of the senior players for any of the dross they've served up for the last year or two. I don't care if they're leaving.

Because new contract details are not yet made public, irrespective of where he's going.

They could however have said that it would be his last game of the season with surgery pending.

EDIT: Now they tell us:

Luke Dorn was clapped off the field after what was probably his last game for the Broncos as he's due to have an operation on his elbow next week and has confirmed he'll leave the club at the end of the season.

Last night epitomised Luke Dorn - great try and sublime 40/20, but too may knocks ons and hospital passes. Luke, good luck to you, maybe coaching is the way forward.
