I was sat a row in front of Lister during the game and have never been so intimidated before at a home game. The vitriol and attitude of the Cas fans stood near us was nothing short of outrageous.
The funny thing was amongst the group of people abusing him was a bloke who had spoken to us in the Webb Ellis before the game on perfectly cordial, non-threatening terms. Put him in a stand full of his neanderthal mates and watch the wind change. Farcical.
Due to the nature of London's fanbase we often seen shirts from other clubs worn at the Stoop. There's a bloke who we'll all be familiar with who wears a Dewsbury shirt every week. Is he fair game for abuse too?
It was shameful and unpleasant, I will vouch for Lister when he says he did not say anything to them to encourage such abuse, we were just watching the game. In a sense I am annoyed that the east stand being unallocated allows away fans to stand on the halfway line when that is where home fans are supposed to be able to sit.
It's also worth noting I've experienced trouble with Cas fans before. Stood behind the sticks at Wheldon Road in 2006, one of the locals tried to set fire to a catalan flag being held by some kids. Astonishing.
