I'm sure Clubb is merely echoing the feelings of many of the first team squad - he's just the first to do so publicly.
Clubb as captain should be taking a degree of responsibility for constantly losing. It's all very well saying he's sick of it - what's he doing about it?
Part of the club's problem is a leadership vacuum, where senior players to my mind have not stepped up enough in guiding, and in some cases shielding, some of the younger guys. Did Gower do this, or did he just bawl people out if they didn't meet his standards?
If Clubb wants to leave, and wants to get paid more, he needs to bloody earn it. I've no sympathy for him, his predicament is merely one part of the wider malaise the club finds itself in. He was given a 5-year contract, which in itself is highly unusual, and he's never really stood out during that time as being deserving of higher wages or status.
