The club have moved too many times in thirty years and I have seen nothing to suggest Barnet is anything more than a stop gap or a final resting place for the worn out Broncos.

Look at the deal surrounding the Broncos and Barnet, it's a deal designed to purely help Barnet, Broncos make nothing from the deal so how can they possibly run as a professional club?

Barnet's ground The Hive is essentially a done up training ground. Barnet moved to The Hive as a bit of a last resort after being shafted by their local council. Barnet's supporters trust want them to move back into the borough of Barnet but I'm not sure how feasible that is.

Do you know of a good ground we can go to where the owners don't want anything in retun? Please let Gus and DH know if you do.

We run as a professional club because the owner is prepared to run at a loss. HTH

I admire your resolve to try and do something to sort out the Broncos but how do you think you are going to get the supporters association in a position to make real choices when you have to raise at over £1 million a year just to keep the club going in super league (or maybe less in the championship).

The only way to stand a chance of being in any position to do anything is to do it! I've no idea if the Association will be a success, but I know there are people out there other than me who are willing to give it a go.

Try Kells in Challenge Cup replay at Chiswick Poly, IIRC 186, played midweek afternoon after Kells held out trying to make club switch fixture to ground nearer them.

Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

Of course, this all depends on whether you believe the figures the clubs give out. The official gate for the Kells game was 370, which oddly enough is the same as that given for our game against Mansfield on the morning of the FA Cup final the previous season - take it from me, you'd have to lop at least 200 off that to get near the true figure!

Maybe the club should start counting stewards, bar staff, turnstile staff, playing and coaching staff of both teams, directors, etc? May double the reported crowd then.

I was quite friendly with the worlds greatest rugby player for a while when the Crusaders were at Barnet, he's a very nice bloke. I remember him getting a load of really personal abuse at one home game, and after 20 minutes or so he planted a free kick right in their midst, scattering them, as like many big mouths they were scared of the ball. 5 minutes later he did it again. Then they moved, but he found them. He must have put the ball into them a dozen times before they gave up and left. A bit of poetic justice I've only ever seen taking place once...

Ha - I remember that!

No way were there 370 there. Have dug out some programmes from later in 1987 & they do say 370 but remember the game well as it was a Tuesday afternoon & rushing to Chiswick from work, having finished at 1. Unfortunately, from the party of 4 who were at the game, 2 are now deceased & the third suffers from dementia but if I catch him in a moment of clarity, will ask him if he remembers how many he thought were there. Shame Bob Evans is no longer with us, he could probably have not only given the crowd figure but also named 99% of them !

Now, as for some of those 'official' crowds for Crystal Palace & what Struddy told you privately . . .

I was at the Kells match... Crowd boosted by the local BT engineers who were on strike. I also knew Bob Evans well, great bloke.
I would say that crowds are lower than watched Fulham as Wakefield brought supporters which in the 80's didn't often happen. I would agree that we are heading to the championship, Saturdays performance was a big backward step from previous performances, I doubt the watching Gary Hetherington went home worried (think he left at HT).

Life is pretty simple: You do stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works.
