Update from tonight’s Dons Trust meeting.

The ‘temperature test’ survey of Wimbledon fans is currently showing 78-79% in favour of London Broncos sharing Plough Lane.

The chief exec says Broncos are “chomping at the bit” to move in. Says LB see it as an opportunity to grow and become a big force in rugby league. Says LB expects crowds of 3–3.5k at first (didn't say if that's Champ or SL). They would move in in 2021 if poss.

Wouldn't just be rent paid, but other elements of revenue sharing.

The chief exec of AFCW is very keen as even the worst case scenario forecasts for Broncos crowds still make financial sense. Says there are opportunities to share sponsors that target both audiences.

Three hoops to jump through before it’s a done deal: 1. approval from fans in a formal vote, 2. agreement from Galliard Homes (who are building the flats next door) and 3. planning permission from the London Borough of Merton.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!

How many times have we heard this BS from the club now? If you build it they will come! 28 years I've been listening to this and it's always the same.

Another relocation will solve all our problems - we don't need to improve our communications, or marketing, or commercial operation or anything else - we just need to move to this other stadium and everything will be fantastic. What a pile of sh*t!

I understand your cynicism but moving from Trailfinders to Plough Lane is a bit like swapping a youth hostel for a four star hotel. Don’t know about you, but if it cost me the same to stay in both, I’d take the hotel.

3-3.5k is achievable in Super League. Probably once to maybe three or four times a year, though that’s completely reliant on the big clubs fetching a good away following and not down to any work London Broncos has done. And that’s based off winning promotion to Super League either by playing onfield, which looks unlikely or hoping that licencing comes in and the club somehow ticks enough boxes to get in, of which, both look unlikely.

Unless there is a complete overhaul of the club’s back office, it’s a case of doing the same thing over and over again and hoping for different results, it’s insanity.

Should have added the walk from either Tooting or Wimbledon is about 30 mins depending on your mobility. Could also try mainline from Waterloo/Clapham Junction to Earlsfield & walk from there about 20 minutes or so.

If there is any "chomping at the bit", it must be Buck & Dusty as that's what horses do!

Of the 3 hurdles, it is encouraging that the fans seem to be welcoming. I don't know how much of the site Galliard have sold but with prices from £450,000 for a 1 bed up to £750,000 for a 3 bed apartment, but i wouldn't buy there if there was a chance of not only having my Saturdays blighted by football fans but my Sundays in the summer too by rugby fans. It is a densely built site.

As for Merton Council, that will probably depend on revenue & votes. Still a long way to go i think.

Not sure anywhere it has been said that a move would would solve all the problems, and as such not sure why its a pile of sh@te.
Trailfinders is a nice little ground, but its just that, little! As many have pointed out.
The club is not in a financial position or unlikely ever will be in a financial position to own its own ground, so next best thing is going to be a ground share of a suitable stadium. I like many would have loves Brentford it didnt happen.
Wimbledon personally access for me not good, but again for me at least its not east london.
How wimbledon would work with training facilities i dont know, but the club must have thought of that.
So far from being a pile of! as suggested, it might be the change thats needed, is it worse than doing nothing?

So ....Plough Lane is quite a way off being a done deal....What has this done to our relationship with Trailfinders?....Do we just return next season or have we managed to pi$$ them off with our loftier ambition ?....Hope not.....

If it was possible, being based at Ealing (training/admin etc) and then playing at PL would seem like a decent idea.
