Here's one to light the blue touch paper - sadly, media companies pander to their known audience. There's not a lot of us, hence we're not considered giving major coverage to. i.e. very few League Express and the like are sold down here, so why give preference to Quins RL.
Same for Super League show. Not excusing HG, who should be more impartial and spread his love. But it's predominantly watched by northerners. So the coverage ends up being biased.
It's a bit of a vicious circle really - media tends to focus on where it sells, it's easier after all. Hence less exposure for us. Which in turn makes it harder to bring more people to games. Repeat ad nauseum.
Until we get more expansionists in the press, we're a bit stuffed. Bill and Phil on Sky seem better balanced individuals. I enjoy their blogs as they seem to think outside of the box.
All of which makes the online Mirror mistake all the more odd. They are official partners with RL (they know they will get sales spikes in the M62 corridor when they run things like the excellent supplement) - so they should know better....but again, no surprise it's Quins they make the mistake with....
