Well done giants : Sat Jul 11, 2009 5:23 pm
Better than us again. Not very scintillating stuff though from either side. Can't imagine there will be too repeat visitors.

Quite predictable that we had real dfficulty going forward - exacerbated by Randall's injury.

Given that, it was important that we defended well. Athough we tackled ok, other aspects were sadly lacking...

Lacked any real attacking threat and have done for a few weeks.

Despite seeing his side close to within four points at one stage, Harlequins coach Brian McDermott was not impressed.

He said: "I thought we were absolutely terrible today.

"As an attacking force we were a bit of a joke and even after putting ourselves in a position to win the game we came up with a load of rubbish.

"People are not taking charge out there and we were far too wishy-washy.

"We have some real problems at the moment, and I do not know what the answer is.

Agreed not a good display and seem to be lacking any spark or urgency.

Given Brian's comments it would seem he is losing patience with the team. I thought they showed a lot of spirit today, there heads did not go down as in previous games against the Giants but again switched off in the 39th and 79th minutes against a side of better quality who knew how to take their chances. Gale played well but we did not get the rub of the green and Alibert was a joke. I will say it again, we will not win until Purdo comes back. I hope I am not right.

All is not lost but it will be if we lose our heads, and that includes Brian Mac!

With 20 minutes to fo the BBC London commentator said you needed a bit of luck and soon after you got it from Alibert.

It sounded like we were coasting and the two tries for Gale and Melling really shocked the Giants.

HArd game as I think a Gaints team without Bodgy would have crumbled. Good luck for rest of the season, you;ve still got a game in hand on the pack you are in the midst of.

Nice comments from BBC London on the fans being 'hardcore' and its not attractiong these people the club needs but the transiant Aussies and for that they ned some hardcore marketing.

They sure were flagging at the end of both halves. Still, it sure looks pretty and it will impress the northerners with our sense of style. The way this season is going, enjoying the scenery may be a good option!

the Claret And Gold Machine is ready to roll

sunday September 1st 2013, when a dream became a reality!!

: Tue Jul 14, 2009 4:46 pm
first time i've had chance to post since the game.

i thought it was a poor game with quite a few penalties/stoppages etc ,quins were the better side for first 15 mins and a 10 minute spell in the 2nd half, but overall we were never in danger of losing the game.

and once again had a great time and a good laugh with the quins fans, i know your fairly grumpy at the moment guys but you really are a great bunch..and nice to meet a few of you as well ,including marilyn(?) and the greenford boys in the bar after the game
