The issue is one of players not working as a team and look disinterested. There will be many reasons both on and off the pitch and the club cannot carry on in its present mode of operating. It will be interesting to see how many turn up for the mid week games. Apart from the on the road game how many games are going to have a crowd that breaks 2K?

Tony Rea is doing a dreadful job. The team selections and combinations are straight out of Rob Powell's manual. I despair just as soon as I see Witt and Randall in the team - but I just know Rea will persist with them.

And why are all our forwards turning into props? There's no width to our forward play - all our backrowers are hitting the ball up as middle units. Cook, Rodney and Clubb are now just (albeit decent) trundlers.

Gower doesn't even look to find runners these days - there are none! - and just like last season has decided that his best option is to take on the line himself.

Amongst other things, line breakers in the backrow and centre required!

Rea has to take some responsibility. We did not really strengthen in the close season and his turnable selection plans look more like the 'not so magic roundabout' !

How much are Witt, Randall, Robertson, Howell ....getting

The issue we will have is how do we recruit next season. It would seem all new contracts end at the end of next season. Gower, Dixon etc. If we offload the wasters above how do we recruit when we can only offer a year?

The downside of appointing Rea last season (which I simply didn't consider) is that he doesn't appear to have brought with him any fresh ideas. We're not trying anything new and it isn't getting us anywhere. Teams know what to expect from us, and know that because we don't put them under much pressure, if they are disciplined in defence and complete their sets in attack, they've got us beaten.

Salford must be just dreadful, on last night's evidence...

I wish people would stop attacking the playing perfformance of Michael Robertson. The guy got injured and hasn't played this season. He didn't injure himself deliberately.

From what I have seen of him he is a very good finisher. He has not looked as good as possible because he has had poor centres inside him. Give the man a good inside centre and he will shine.

For this year I think the best option is to play Colbon as inside centre on Dixon's wing (to stiffen the defence on that side) and put Clubb or Channing as centre on Robertson's wing, with Sarginson moving to stand off.

That backline can start to win a few games.
