Interested to test the theory that Clubb was more sinned against than sinning.

God, you are obsessed. Why can't you get over this issue? He left the club months ago.
The guy played for England back in 2008, since then the club have been awful and he has still improved as a player, from playing centre then, to now playing Prop, LF and SR. He wanted to move on to push for international honours again, he was never going to achieve his goal staying with a god awful club.
Yes, he didn't go about moving the right way, he acted like a child. But the way a lot of people on this forum are now acting about it, I wouldn't put it past them to act the same way he did if they were in his position.

Because I'm genuinely gobsmacked that people like you are prepared to defend him to the hilt.

Then again the culture of failure is so ingrained in the club it's probably no wonder inveterate apologists make up the core of remaining support.

I haven't defended his actions or the way he came out in the media about us. What he said was disrepsectful to the club, even though it was completely true. He was fed up, and clearly felt like he needed to vent. No one is making up excuses to defend him. Move on with your life. He has.

Re: Club vs Clubb : Tue Jan 21, 2014 6:49 pm
the way he explained it in his first interview at wigan made me think the way he forced the move was wrong but at the same time he was left with no option.

He said that he knew he wanted to move after years of service because the club had become a shambles. whilst everybody else was free to leave London when he informed them he wanted to leave and clubs submitted there offers to him London then put a price tag on him that he felt no club would be willing to pay and he felt betrayed as the club had sabotage a move for him, He also said it was significantly more than he's being paid at Wigan. He then had to say what he was feeling that he was just fed up at losing and players not taking it serious and he wanted to further him self and he didn't see that at London. Once he was told Wigan was willing to pay the fee London wanted he jumped at the chance because of the systems, professionalism and the success that follows, he also felt he would never get a shot at the international scene as no matter how hard he tried the team was just getting hammered every week.

Truth hurts i guess.

If we're dealing in the painful truth then Lard Butt will spend most of his time at Wigan on the treatment table.
