Scott Moore had a fantastic season for Huddersfield Giants a few years back.
The positives this season have been that he has set up 12 tries, runs from dummy half over ten times per game, has made almost 550 tackles in the season and regularly tops the tackle count and run the ball about 15-20 times a game. He's done long minutes also, especially since Cunningham went to halfback.
On the negative side has has had 63 missed tackles, 18 errors, 16 penalties and 1 red card plus he could have gone also at Hull FC away whilst he screwed up on the half time hooter v Bradford costing us a certain equaliser. That's around an average of 5-6 mistakes a game.
Can he regain top form?
I think he will go into a side at Castleford in which there may be a feeling of momentum which will help. I see Cas as having about 6 or 7 really good players and plenty on form who aren't stand outs but sufficient to win games if that makes sense.
Cas have gone from having a player on around £250k in Chase and lots of cheapo players to a more even spread of the salary which has really strengthened them. If the rumours are true that they have got Matt Cook and Scott Moore then that is two decent players that is for sure for them.
At Giants on Saturday I was scanning the program and thinking that I'll be surprised if any of our #1 to #5 are here next season whilst it appears that 4 or 5 of the starting pack may also be gone.
It is in theory going to be tough to rebuild but at least we are shopping when the market is open this year.
Cheers
Mark
