wire game : Sun Jul 13, 2014 8:39 pm
First touch a knock on, kick off ouy on the full. Defence ripped apart by a well drilled outfit, poor field kicking, lack of game awareness. Defense man on man good in parts, some players showed enthusiasm and pride, others not interested sol being a classic.
Sad day, but on and upwards.
On plus side very nice dinner in the platinumn lounge courtesy of Emirates, got pic taken with Alex Murphy and most wire fans were sympathetic rather than gloating

Life is pretty simple: You do stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works.

Re: wire game : Sun Jul 13, 2014 8:55 pm
Was there any improvement in the play. Score suggests not and over last few weeks play has appeared to get poorer. You'd expect by this stage we'd have some cohesion but not really much evidence of it.

The team is shot imo. The Widnes home game was the end of the road for these guys.
As I said on another thread, all self belief is now gone. The Bronco team now consists of players waiting to go and demoralised kids.

Expect nothing but to offer sympathy to a bunch of lads on a hiding to nothing and hope they come back next season with a positive frame of mind.

Well, as £300,000 in ticket sales wasn't enough to impress Kleanthouse this year, we will be looking at paying at least that in rent if we want to stay at the hive.

Time for Hughes to cough up or love off because his uncertainty last year was more than most of the few fans we had left could take.

Not sure any of that answers the question. For what is worth I think your figures and conclusions are well off.

Why do you insist on focusing on revenue without factoring in cost and why do you assume next years figures will be based on this years when circumstances have changed?

Ignore gutters mate, he is only happy if he is quoting numbers and whinging, and hiding curses.
In answer to the question, experience was the difference and tackle technique.
Warrington dominated every tackle, where as we were losing the tackle everytime, wire players finished on their knees allowing a quick PTB we were always put down on our back slowing it down..
One on one tackling was actually not too bad, however on the fringes wire found the gaps.
One or two players had given up TBH, shown by the breakaway down our left hand side, cant remember who it was chasing but they just stopped, FB threw his hands up in despair but still tried to make the tackle.
Sol was not interested in the slightest.
Joey was just shaking his head when he walked down the steps at the end. I thought it would be 58-12 70 plus was embarrassing TBH

For years, I "guessed" at the numbers. When I was furnished with the correct and exact figures, I was less than 5% out.....I say, including ticket sales and his "marketing budget" AK has/will have pocketed in excess of £250,000 (before expenses etc) from having the Broncos come and stay. This "guesstimate" excludes takings at the bar, shop or in the food concessions.
If he isn't happy with that income and instead wants "rent", then I'd very much doubt he'll accept less income that he's got this year.........and for the record, match day costs at the Stoop in 2012 were £222,244 against ticketing revenue of £322,229.....each fan in attendance was worth about £9 to the club......at the same rate, that's £150,000 in tickets alone before the "marketing budget" provided as an incentive.

Michael, I don't hide curses, the swear filter loving does that for me. You can sit there listening to band play as the ship sinks if you want, but that's not for me!

On closer inspection: A scan of ticket availability for September 13th shows that there about 200 seats unavailable in those areas that are to be open. If you take it that these are members, then we are looking at about 200 people who have paid either £213, £234 or £563 for the 2014 season, + 5 months of...er, having a seat.
If you say 10% at the top end, 20% in the mid range and 70% in the bottom range, then £30,000 is the income from Season Tickets....sorry, Memberships this year.

Now, that leaves 1,050 as the current average for "walk-up" fans. Let's say that 250 of these are Freebies.....either local kids or Barnet FC fans, then that is 800 paying on the gate....using the 3 top prices of £23, £25 and £49 and the same % splits as above you get £20,800 on the gate.

13 Home games at £20,800 and your £30,000 from Memberships delivers £300,400.

Let's say I am being unfair......let's call it 450 of the 1050 that are freebies........then this figure drops to £232,800....that's with 36% of the crowd there FOC

My maths may be slightly off, but unless we've been letting everyone in for nothing, then I'd say I'm not that far off. £900,000 in funding next year......if AK wants more income than £250,000 then we will end up spending more on the ground than the team. If Hughes is still in the chair, don't act surprised when it happens!
