If we lose O'Loughlin then that's all the good work put into getting this club out of all the crap that came from losing so many important players and leaders all at once gone down the pan. So many important players leaving left the club in mid-table mediocrity and we've only just managed to recover.

If Lockers left then every single player that was part of Madge's leadership team in 2010 will have left the club and no team can stay competitive after losing that many key players and on field leaders.

I agree, it's a major concern. One of the problems Saints are having now is lack of leadership.

I would be seriously gutted if Lockers was to leave for the NRL. If we signed Ellis then it would soften the blow a little but it would still be a disaster in my eyes.

I guess the cap increase in Aus and the lack of increase over here will hold us back more than anyone else.

Where has this Lockers going to the NRL come from? I would be gutted to lose him but What more does he have to do here? Won Super League, Challenge Cup, Had his testimonial, League Leaders shield, Captained the club for years. He has done everything and more.

Even without losing Lockers it's still a major concern given that all the other leaders are leaving. That's why I wasn't too concerned with Wane's weakened team against Widnes because at some point some of those players like Hansen, Hock, Goulding and McIlorum will have to take responsibility and lead the team and be the ones who guide the team in tough games. We lacked leadership in that game but those players need to start showing it.
Something I've always believed is that the best leaders are those who are backed by other great leaders. It's why I think Leeds have been so strong over the last few years because they have many leaders within the team.
I think Wane needs a little group of players who will be here next year who will focus on becoming potential captain material.

Funny though if Locky was staying past this year why no contract has been announced upto now? Hes a massive part of our team, id say equal if not more important than the boy wonder at full back. IFL get him signed up.

One of the RL journos tweeted that they had heard a player from this side of the pennines was interesting the NRL. My first thought was Morley as it was mentioned on the Sunday Footy Show that it has been said he wants to finish his career with the Roosters. As gutting as it would be to lose Lockers I'd love to see him rip it up down there and show everyone what Wigan fans have known for years.
