Is it the case that Locker's wages currently don't count on the cap? If it is then losing him would be even more of a disaster as replacing him will take a massive hit on our wage structure, effectively adding the wages of Sean's replacement on top of our current wage bill (obviously minus Tommy, Carmont etc but they all need replacing).

Lockers will go nowhere IMO

Obviously it is getting round to negation time for any extension and with him only counting for half on the CC, there is scope there for a BIG wage increase.

Just agent and probably player talk in order to put a bit of pressure on IL's pocket.

Lets give him a whopper of a contact for 3 years. He deserves it.

He's not going anywhere, from a reliable source, you don't need to worry.

Just for the record, it is 50% of his wage up to £100k that can be discounted - so a maximum of £50k discount.

i.e. If he earns £80k per year - £40k will count on the cap.

If he earns £120k per year - £70k will count on the cap.

Heard from a very reliable source that we have had talks with Matty Smith. Obviously, they're are only talks and nothing concrete. I like the guy but don't think it would be a good move considering the youngsters we have. Also heard Scoot Dureau's name banded about as being a target.

It's on Sky teletext that Finch wants to extend his contract but Wigan haven't approached him yet. Absolutely crazy not to keep him if the wage demands are reasonable!

I think Matty Smith would be a very sensible signing to sit alongside the hoped re-signing of Finch. To bring him in for Leuluai will make sure we're not short whilst not closing the door on any of the youngsters.

The youngsters will continue to get opportunities this season and Matty Smith could be that insurance policy for us that we'd have enough depth to our squad next year. He can play 7 and 9 so guys like Powell and Logan Tomkins will be very much in the frame still.

He has a kicking game as well which could be handy in this team
