Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Brough to Wigan?

A halfback with an outstanding kicking game and lots of pace? Yes please!

I would choose Dureau over Brough any day of the week.

I still struggle to look at him as a top player due to him being average at times for so many years, however, recently for Hudds he has been sensational. His defence is still not as good as what we are used to though. We have been blessed with one of the best 7's in the game in defence with Leuluai.

Our team is already great in 'D' though, if Brough brought a kicking game (one of the best in super league) to our team which lacks a good kicking game then maybe he would have a bigger impact than Leuluai or Finch. I would worry about him going quiet though, in big games Finch and Leuluai have proved they won't go hiding, I'm not sure Brough fits the bill.

He's a limited coach that won't last long term.

That would make Wigan strong favourites then. With Ratchford at FB and Patton with Cronk in the halves, I think we'll do very well without Sam.

In pure personnel terms, No matter who we replace Tommy with it will be a back ward step. Although in terms of the team, if we bring in someone with a good kicking game, like brough, then we COULD be better off. (although to my mind we wouldnt be)

Give me a choice of any halfback in superleague right now and Brough would be right near if not top of my list. I've spoke about on here in the last couple of days needing to sign players that tick the right boxes for us and Brough does exactly that.

A kicking game- yes

A running game- yes

Pace- yes

Passing game- yes

Personality- yes

British- Yes

It's a long shot but I'd sign that guy in a heartbeat.

In 'this' Wigan side I think we could certainly improve on Leuluai with an out and out 7 because were desperate for a kicking game and some pace in the halfbacks.

I get what you mean though you'll always feel the loss of a cracking player like Leuluai. He is just a classy player who you could shove in at 6, 7, 9 or probably even in other spots like centre or loose forward and he'd do you a fantastic job.

He's just a top player.

I would be ecstatic if brough was our new 7 next year. He is exactly what we are missing, a damn good kicking game, he has the best in the league at it IMO bet if he comes to Wigan though, he would immediately lose his kicking ability!

Brough's a cracking individual but I'm not to sure he's a team player. It seems to me as though every team he's ever been a part of have been a one man team, and coming to Wigan that clearly wouldn't be the case. Also he's quite a journeyman and I'm not to keen on the fact that he's moved between a lot of clubs. It's a no from me I'm afraid.

I'd much rather see a 6 and 7 of Sam and Finch with Russel at 1 above any other option, and that's including Dureau. I want to see some long term stability in the halves and the only way we'll get that is with predominantly British players.

Over any other option really? Moving Sam from his best position to accommodate a largely untried 19 year old as opposed to bringing in an out-an-out 7 to replace Leuluai and partner Finch. Not too sure if Brough is the answer though, he'll be 30 by the beginning of next season.

Broughs young enough to get plenty of years out of and long term Sam could replace Finch in the halves with Russell getting that fullback spot.

The chances of getting Brough would seem slim to none though at the moment.

Dwyer in the squad but didn't play, that's why he wasn't noticed! On the subject of Brough, why are Hudds allowing him to go? He's one of their greatest attacking threats and their best play maker.
Ken Davy went out of his way to sign Brough, so why is he now unloading him?
