Would be interesting to see whether he's wanted as a halfback or a backup hooker or as a little bit of both.

Not convinced he offers enough at halfback anymore and he certainly didn't play well there for Leeds in the few games before he was switched to hooker.

If he is signed as a hooker it would be a decent move as he offers good impact although lacks the ability to read a game in the way a good hooker should.

Don't understand some of the comments I've read tonight knocking the fact that this was billed as a major announcement. Peacock shouldn't be in the team on form alone, but this is a bloke who's represented his country almost 50 times over 12 years. If this was soccer no one would bat an eyelid. In fact SSN would probably be showing career highlights videos till the weekend. I'd hope fans will still be full of plaudits for Peacock, but I've got a nasty feeling a number will use this as a way to knock the RFL and the sport.

My biggest fear is that McNamara will give the captaincy to Sinfield, thus giving him a guaranteed place in the England 13 for years to come. For me Sinfield's a jack of all trades and master of none when it comes to England. Roby's been quiet by his standards this year but he's got to be in with a shout. Sean O'Loughlin isn't vocal enough for me but he's our best loose forward and no, I haven't got my cherry and white glasses on.

James Graham should be captain but the fact that he won't train or play with the England side until the end of the year might count against him.

Great player in his day, but he's well past it. Shouldn't be sniffing the England team. Not really earth shattering news.

He's done McNamara a favour, anyway, in forcing him to at least consider a player in form.
