The play-offs are totally flawed if round 3 is exactly the same as the top two round 1 matches. This is garbage planning.

Last year when we had the week off we stuttered the week after and lost.

This year we NEED the week off to refresh the bodies (some of which are clearly battered and bruised) ready for two big knockout games.

Come on people since when has any Wigan v Saints game been pointless, id take a win even if its a friendly played at sherdley park. Attendance should be very good i think im sure we`ll come over in numbers, of course a week off is ideal send the others to knock hell out of each other then hammer the winners, whos gona win sunday Wigan of course, we will take on Catalans then back to Wigan, cos Warrington wont have the bottle to play us, Who will win the game in 3 weeks Wigan v Saints Come on we arnt gona go a full season with out beating you.

This, without a doubt. From the wire game the other week it's clear that the 3 extra games from last year in the WCC, cup semi and cup final have caught up with them (though I would definitely take this position every year to be competing in those games in the first place!).

Massive effort needed on Sunday to get the 2nd week off and I'm sure the lads won't disappoint!

Agree.

Last year we'd had enough weeks off to stay fresh on challenge cup weekends and having to play Hull KR in week 2 of the play offs helped us get rid of some rust.

This year we've had no breaks and due to the WCC and the exiles games our lads have had to back up a couple of times. The full squad could do with a week off as a couple look a little jaded.

We really could do with a win on Sunday.

In Australia it's 1 v 8, 2 v 7, etc. I don't know what happens in subsequent rounds but maybe this would be better. It does seem ridiculous that we all know that Wigan will play Saints twice.

Yep, it's certainly a foregone conclusion you would hammer Catalans if you lose to Saints, given the beatings you dished out in the league fixtures.

Oh.

Re: Attendance - Wigan vs Saints : Tue Sep 13, 2011 11:32 am
Ticket sales for the game have started off very well at Saints. The first allocation for the game was sold out by 11a.m. on Monday and another allocation had to be brought over from the DW. Granted the first application may have only been about 1000 or so but if sales continue as they are then we should bring quite a few. When all is said and done the game is Wigan V Saints.

When Maurice sold me to Leeds something changed, it just not the same, the passion inside me just wasn’t the same as running out at Central park for my hometown club.
We need a change of culture here; we don’t want to be just happy with playing ok on Saturday at St Helens.
Ill make sure that from now on things will change, that players will be under pressure and will train a lot harder than they have before.

Looking at eticketing theres a hell of alot of ST holders not bought their seats before the deadline. There's around 9K been sold so far for the home stands. That includes any seats that were on general sale. Its hard to judge but I can't see another 10k tickets being sold before Sunday. Ill go for an attendance around 14-15k.
