I don't think it's a big loss.

He has a lot of talent, but you saw both sides of his game on Thursday.

He scored a try and generally put himself about. He also let Farrell break through the line twice for two scores.

Finally, he was put clean through himself and ran straight in to Bowen with a player in support.

He's not as good as Batman, Tomkins or Farrell so he isn't going to get much game time here.

Batman is decent , but I prefer iron man myself

And yet everyone seems to complain about our lack of size in the forwards. Surely that's something he'd have a role in?

I think the lack of size points more towards the poor signing strategy than our conditioning, that however is not to say I think all is going well in that department.

Bitcon seems to have moved up the food chain, ex players seem to be the flavour of the month again at a hands on level and I think we have gone backwards as a result. I do think it needs a shakeup and maybe Bitcon moving on may instigate it.

Sika Manu looks to be signing for Hull. 5'10" 19 stone and knows his way to the line, another that fits the bill and would improve us. Hull to their credit look to be building a decent squad for next year.

http://www.loverugbyleague.com/news_194 ... ngton.html I rated jack hughes for his size and power but he didn't get enough consistency when given the chance at wigan. a decent enough squad player and who knows we could end up needing a player of his size come injuries etc but ti was clearly not meant to be at wigan. but I'm not sure why this article states he has been getting limited chances at wigan (of late) considering he is on a season long loan at hudds??!

Everyone says that about Hull every year but they always flatter to deceive. I do hope they come good though because a strong Hull will give us a more competitive league.

As far as Bitcon is concerned, I'm not sure he's having the impact he did 4 or 5 years ago. When Madge first took over we were noticeably the fittest team in SL and that was a huge factor in our success. The last couple of years that definitely hasn't been the case. Our forwards, despite the "lack of size" that is much talked about, seem to do shorter spells yet struggle to get back in the line at times. Pre-season needs looking at AFAIC, these jollies over to Florida don't seem to be getting the team anywhere near as fit as the army camps and endurance training up in Scotland did.

Our pack is looking pretty strong for next year if the Manu signing comes off:

We have had good news about Gareth Ellis' injury too and looks to be having good rehab so he will push forward into the front row. If Westerman stays I expect him to move into the 2nd row and Abdull to take over the 13 role. 1 problem, we only have 1 hooker in the entire club (down to a 16 year old playing fantastically well in the 19's) - so if Houghton gets injured, we might have to put feka there!

Isn't it! I watched the Bulldogs at the weekend, and the minutes he (and Kasiano) put in, for men of their size is impressive. He's no ten-minute Mose, that's for sure!

(He's a much better all-round footballer than Masoe, anyway)
