I was thinking the same. I think Tierney is a decent player but he lacks the size to be effective in the modern game. I think we'd be better off putting sarge or gelling on the wing and Bateman to centre with Sutton into second row.

Michaels looked like Semi Radradra by comparison!

If you're that size, you've got to exceptionally good, like his dad, or Ben Barba. And I'm afraid he just isn't.

I would be very disappointed if we are not talking to agents of players at Salford, Hudds in particular but also KR offering them a path back to SL should any one of them drop.

Some top quality players could be looking at uncertain futures.

Sadly the Manfreddi injury is a real sickener. Probably take him at least 2 if not 3 seasons to recover. We must be looking at a quality replacement got the short to medium term whilst standing by him and supporting his rehab.

Don't think they'll get relegated but I'd take McGillvary, Ikehihifo and Taia from Huddersfield.

Very much so. Huddersfield losing to Leigh today puts them in big trouble, with games against Leeds and HKR still to come. Lots of tempting potential targets there, especially.

We have got a couple of U19s wingers who have just signed with the first team, in Marshal and Davis, plus the likes of Higginson who already has a first team squad number and has the size and speed to play on the wing. All of them would give us some options. Marshal is the leading try scorer at Swinton, on loan, Higginson has played first team at Centre this year and did not let us down, he just looked a bit naive. Given the constraints of the salary cap I would imagine that they will get some game time.

Akuma Tai would be a must out of all of the middle 8 teams, he could provide real punch in the back row.

Add to that we need a decent utility back centre/winger to cover Manfredi and alternate with Gildart who I don't think is ready anyway. Steve Michaels wouldn't be a bad signing if he came cheap.

Heard from a very good and reliable source that both Bateman and (surprisingly) McIlorum are both unhappy at the club and want to leave. Don't know the reasons but obviously Bateman is easier to guess. Given his testimonial, the McIlorum one is very surprising.
