Good to see plans for the return of RL. Seems a good plan with a mid August start and limited crowds by October.
The reserve league has been cancelled so an opportunity to give younger fringe players the chance to play first team.
The more games on the fixture list the better .

If you think that that people are going to flock in droves to watch Winter Rugby when more of the the new generation of supporters have been conditioned to watching games in the nicer weather of the Summer, you are living in a dream world.

As a older supporter, who spent most of the seasons watching the game played in the terrible Winter conditions like rain, smow, fog, freezing cold and players covered in mud, do I ever want the game to return to Winter just to suit a minority, some of whom I suspect have never experienced the realities of Winter Rugby.

Supporters already complain about games being played in February which more often than not the worse month of the year.

And what about the problems about ground sharing by clubs like Huddersfield, Hull, Leeds, Salford and Wigan or the the clubs who have the reserve and youth teams teams of football clubs playing at their grounds.

Even Rugby Union are considering a switch to Summer Rugby.

p.s. If it is any consolation, supporters might welcome it this year as a one off, because of the virus situation!

You must be joking when Huddersfield like many towns only get that for a Premiership Division football match!

The Reserve League may have been cancelled for that very reason.

If the number of games has to remain at twenty eight, clubs will have to rotate their squads more than normal and play more than one game per week in order to complete a full season of fixture, especially with the addition of the Challenge Cup.

The game coming back with reduced capacity was something I raised when the games were initially stopped. Teams like Wigan, Saints, Wire, Leeds have roughly half of their ground capacity made up of season ticket holders. Given the social distancing restrictions that will have to be adhered to just letting season ticket holders in may not be possible.
