Not the best start with Broad Cairn dropping away inside the final furlong. They went too slow early and I was surprised that Steve Drowne didn't elect to take it on earlier as the last thing he wanted was the last furlong being a sprint after an early dawdle (Broad Cairn won over a mile last time).



I've put the two bigger priced ones in with the remaining three and gone in with an each-way Lucky 31.

Heat 8 looks very weak and however bad Scott Nicholls has been 14/1 (Ladbrokes and Bet 365) is far too big against Gollob, Holta and Walasek.

Two well backed winners (SP's 11/2 from 7/1 and 15/8 from 9/4) meant that whilst it wasn't the best day, losses were minimal.

Thought the Wakefield v Hull game might be tight but have gone for Wakefield (scr).

Rich Franklin to win definitely for me also he's only lost 3 of his last 15 UFC fights and they have been against Anderson Silva x2 & Dan Henderson on a Split Decision... compared with Wanderlei Silva who has lost 4 of his last 5 fights of which 3 have been KO's vs Quinton Jackson, Dan Henderson and Mirko Filipović while the other was a Unanimous Decision vs Chuck Liddell, It might also be worth backing Rich Franklin to win by Submission as 9 of his 24 wins have come from this making (8/1) a big price IMO but in saying that IIRC Wanderlei Silva hasn't lost by Submission in his 43 fights...

Mentioned this earlier in the year but I fancy Spin Cycle for the Kings Stand - have taken 66's myself and there's still some 40/1 available, he won well last time out beating older handicap sprinters off level weights - has a tough task and the stable jockey is on board Captain Gerrard (left SC with Richard Mullen - can't tell you how bad Mullen is).



Also fancy the Jo Morgan horse Moran Gra in the Coventry - very impressed with his performance last time out and 16/1 is still available each-way
