If the team was picked on form then terry should be nowhere near it. He only looks good when he has the far superior Carvalho as his partner.
Chelsea's best central defensive partnership is Terry and Alex. Carvalho's close to being surplus to requirements. Carvalho has been brilliant for Chelsea, but he's never been as solid or reliable as Terry and he even isn't now that Terry is off form.
Even at Carvalho's best he's always been far, far more likely to screw up or get himself sent off than Terry.
As for Lampard, well, hes never had a good game for England anyway. Hes not about to start now hes entering the twilight of his career
Yeah, God knows how he managed to get the England fans PoY in 2004 and 2005. God knows how he was in the team of the tournie in Euro 2004. Never had a good game at all for England.
The truth is that he played pretty well for England between 2004 and 2006, but was utterly ******* **** in the 2006 World Cup. And even then his dire WC performances were pretty much totally because he couldn't hit a barn door from 2 yards. If he'd carried any type of CFC form into the WC then he'd have buried half of those chances, he'd have been a front-runner for WC's best player and England's chances would have been significantly improved.
