Of course most of them will need to be disregarded, if i never saw them play, read about them or saw TV footage how can i make a valid judgement on their contribution to LFC?

I could look at the relative success of the sides they played in, but since Liverpool were virtually anonymous prior to the 60's i'll take my chances with the latter day lot.

Yes, but you said that they were in the wrong order, but if he has seen them, then obviously, he's able to judge and put them in the order he thinks they merit. hence my comment, "in your opinion".

I didn't realise they had to be current players.
