Financially i assume it would be a disaster for them though.

He will get an immediate lift from the players, I don't doubt that at all but that will only last for a game or two and whether it will be enough to keep them up or not I am not sure.

why managers keep gambling on him is beyond me. He'll make a decent start, then he'll get injured, then he'll fall out with the coach. Its the same pattern at, oh, about 8 clubs he's been at already.

As has already been mentioned Shearer cant lose, if he keeps them up hes even more of a hero and will get the job long term and if they get relagated he was in a bad position anyway. I hope he keeps them up anyway i like Shearer and its a guaranteed 6 points next year for the Pool

Anyhow the point is Australia is not in Asia so should not be playing in the Asian qualifying group full stop. They can't just move continents because playing a South American team every time was to difficult!!!
