Hi All,

Since JD has announced he will be moving on at the end of the season I have been talking with a few fans on how we can carry on his legacy. We have come up with the idea that we should form an independent supporter’s group to co ordinate fund raising events which we will be organizing throughout the year with all proceeds being given to squadbuilder. We are arranging a launch on Tuesday 7th August at 7:30pm for 8pm start in the Hall of Fame Bar with hopefully Gary, JD and Paul March in attendance, all are welcome. It would be a great way to show our appreciation for all the efforts JD has made and to welcome Paul as our new coach. Also speaking on the evening will be Mike Smith.

We need everyone to come down and get behind this to help our club and team to become more successful year on year.

We are planning to hand out flyers at Sunday’s match and any help would be appreciated in doing this before the game.

Don't mean to be a pessimist, but with club officials involved it's hardly independent.

No club officials will be involved in the running of the group therefore the group will be independent. We will be working independently from the club.

We are using the club's facilities and as a professional courtesy we have invited Mr Fawcett to attend, and as anyone, he will be able to input. The meeting will be chaired by supporters and future meetings will be attended purely by members of the group, whoever they may be, as we will be a democratic organisation.

We will have an independent voice and will continue to operate who ever is in charge in the years to come,good, bad or indifferent, for the benefit of the team.

Great idea Rob as long as The board of directors have nothing to do with this I'm all for it

Excellent idea Rob -also agree the board of directors shouldn't be involved if it's independent of the club - very kind of them to offer the use of the hof bar.
Not sure of Mike Smith as speaker on the night thought we wanted to look forward not back!
Will it be a monthly meeting?

Thanks guys for the support but I would just like to point out that this isn't purely down to me, a few of us have come up with some ideas and then decided to get tegether to see what we can do moving forward. For all those that know me you will know that I am a genuine person and I can give you my word that every penny raised or comes through the supporters group will go straight to squad builder and everything will be transparent for all members to see.

The main aim of this is to continue the great work that squadbuilder has been doing over the last year and we have heard on numerous occasions from JD that without squadbuilder we wouldn't have been able to sign half the players we have this season so our thinking is why not put something like this together and help the funds grow even more which will hopefully enable Paul march to make some big signings of his own.

The only involvement the club has in this is, we will need to use the HOF every now and then and as Ilkley Cougar said it was in everyones interest to get the ok from Gary and I must say that Gary is very supportive of the idea even though our directors will not be involved in any dealings with money or decisions.

I think if we can get people behind this we could really help with the building of 2013's team and continue the legacy that JD will leave behind.

Come down on Tuesday night and make your own mind up, I don't think you will be dissapointed.

i will try and come down and listen to what is said but pontefract is a long way to come please let me know if it isnt happening has you know i came with jd has is sponsor but my wife and kids like it at couger park so we could keep comeing c u soon
