I’ve been a supporter for over 50 years this is my first post. Having both met Paul March and seen him on Micky’s videos I think Marchy is a top bloke. He is genuine and clearly giving everything for the cause and I would like everyone to give Marchy a chance to turn things around.

The question that’s haunting me has Paul got the inner qualities to be a successful coach at this level?

We all understand that relegation is not an option as it would signal the end of our club so please take my observations constructively.

JD was an inspirational leader and took us on a journey which laid the foundations for the Cougars to be a Championship club for years to come. The appointment of any new coach had a big act to follow. He left a legacy of core of experienced Championship players for the new coach to continue building the team. In my view Marchy has strengthened the team in the weak areas that existed under JD...despite the loss of the SL players.

This is not the time to look for excuses...It is easy to cover up the cracks that are clearly there to be seen by all, by using injuries or the lack of our ex SL players. The fact is that the team are playing without direction, leadership and judging by the Batley experience mental preparation. Putting everything into perspective we did not expect to beat Batley but we DID expect to beat a Championship 1 side at home, and would have done if JD had been on the field.

The team are not performing under Marchy. We had lots of possession against Whitehaven to win the game but we had no pattern to our play, no leadership and the team was a shadow of its former self. Last season we would have beaten them by 20 points. Watching Marchy on the video at the end made sorry viewing , he looked a beaten man. I believe if he cannot turn things around quickly he is honest enough to step aside and give someone else a chance before it’s too late.

So lets all get behind him and the team to get us back on track... The day of reckoning is fast approaching!

Well said Mr Diehard ,my thoughts and sentiments exactly.

I really hope Marchy can turn it around before it is too late , I just can't see it ,
I think coaching at this level is just a touch out of reach for him at this time.

Please prove me wrong Marchy and I will be the first to apologise.

A very good post, all I worry about is before we know it we lose to Halifax, then we lose again and again and again and then before you know it the team are at an all time low. It gets harder to get the mind in focus and the confidence back. You then start to have frustrated fans who then as we have heard on the odd occasion from some there will be uncalled for shouting at our players. You don't need me to tell you we have been to that dark place before and it isn't pleasant. We are only 2 games in I know but we know how fast the season comes and goes and before we know we will be fighting to get off the bottom of the table.

Come on Marchy I will back you 100% but we need to start seeing the results, one last thing that has been pointed out is that it wasn't ideal conditions at the weekend for the new expansive rugby to be played that Marchy has promised. Will we see this on a dry day at the shay and will this turn things around and keep it a close game.

Looking at our fixtures for next 4 rounds makes Swinton IMO a must win game. I know it's still early days but a defeat on Sunday and then Featherstone and Leigh coming up after the Lions. It's a tough old start.

Paul March in his 2 seasons as a head coach has won Championship 1 (which JD didn't manage with us) and kept Hunslet in the Championship the following season. I believe he was only let go because Barry Eaton was available for nothing after Crusaders went bust and the RFL guaranteed his wage. Not exactly a bad track record.

I think it is way to early to be saying the coach isnt up to it.

The complete in-balance the D/R is causing is making his job even harder.

Now there's a few lines I definitely agree with, I reckon people should hold upon the negative comments and give Paul a chance, it's every coaches nightmare to be in his predicament with so many first choice players out and the D/R basically throwing who knows what opposition at you every week

Here we go again!!

Two games in and everyone is writing Marchy off, we have a long way to go yet! It takes time effort and a massive amount of commitment and determination from all the team to turn this around and after seeing sundays game a do feel given the situation with injuries we are moving in the right direction.

You can't judge Marchy on two games and 6 first team players out.

Like i said before he lost 6 First team players before he had even started in the job!
Then with the injury list at present with Mossy, Killer and Rawlins and a couple more, ad those to the 6 players at the end of last season an you have nearly all first team regulars out!
I know we have had the odd new signing but no one with a vast amount of experience, but i do know given the situation with the club and how much effort they have done to boost season tickets, you can't say they aren't trying to get people through the turnstyle.

Its only the second game of the season with a limited first team squad to pick from, its early days and if not anything Marchy deserves a chance to prove himself with a full fit squad and then i think the results will speak for themselves.

Give him a chance, there's no doubt that he is someone that will give 110% to the cause so let's get behind him. He has my backing during the time of change. Rome was not built in a day and all that. Met Paul recently and he was a true gent.
