The team we are putting together is probably worse than before.
Lads in there early 20s get battered in these leagues by the better teams.
Yes the budget maybe better but to me this is all about getting a team on the field rather than trying to gain promotion.
There seems to be more excitement regards the women's team they are building.
If we have ambitions wouldn't we be doing what the likes of Newcastle and Hunslet etc are doing.
The club will be lucky to sell 30 season tickets on the strength of the new signings.
This club will not make the play offs with this team and this coach 7th or 8th is beckoning.
I'll still be on the terraces as I have been for over 50 years but I won't be holding my breath.

I'd rather finish 6th or 7th and actually be able to pay the players then overspend and almost go out of business mid season again.

Funny you chose to mention Hunslet- a club that get considerably lower crowds than us but are now able to make much better signings. And why is this? It's because they've built slowly and always lived within their means, a very well run club by all accounts.

The club needs a season of stability after the mismanagement last year and hopefully have a proper go at promotion the season after. Tough to accept but our only choice.

Why is everyone having a go at the previous directors.
Lingard obviously identified the players we signed and the directors negotiated the contracts.
He had 2 years to put his squad together and he failed.
Now we have a exodus of players due to wages not being paid so what are we going to be left with.
We are no better off under the new owners.
I keep hearing things about what there supposed to be doing but all I see is more and more bad publicity on social media and our better players leaving.

People "have a go" at the previous directors because they are perceived to be responsible for the financial mismanagement of the club which caused the unpaid wages you mention. The reason we are losing our better players is because we're lowering our budget to become sustainable- you appear to be against the players being unpaid so surely you should agree with this. I'd love to see us put together a squad that wins the league but with the resources currently at our disposal it's impossible. As for Lingard, I also have my doubts but people forget we were in the playoffs at the halfway point of the season before the exodus of players began.

The reason were losing players is because they've still not been paid.
Read the statement Dan Parker put on his Facebook page yesterday then tell me there leaving because we're cutting the playing budget.

Cant seem to find Dan Parker's statement, could you summarise it?

Why do you think the players haven't been paid? Is your problem with the new owners that they're not made of money? I'm sure if we could afford to pay the players we would, but Steve Gill said in the KN there's unpaid electricity bills etc dating back to before the new regime came in.

The fact is the club is recovering from catastrophically bad management and probably wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for Austria Holdings. Give them time to sort the mess and if two or three years down the line we're still in the same situation, I'll be right alongside you calling for them to go. As of right now, with the resources they have at their disposal there's really not much they can do.
