I think much will depend on the last part of the season and the success/failure of the team they play in.
As it is voted for by the players now though it may well see a less fashionable player pick up the award.
For me Sean O'Loughlin has to be in with a good shout as well, but again it will depend on the end of season push.
No player has as yet put there hand up and stood head and shoulders above the others like Lyon and Barrett did in the past, despite the latter not winning it, although Gidley has shown some fantastic quality this year.
