Bring back promotion and relegation on merit for gods sake. Can anyone seriously believe that their has been a significant shift in development of home grown talent in the franchise era - not at all. Everyone still clamouring for southern hemesphere players coming over and taking up large chuncks of the cap. Head coaches going on recruitment campaigns abroad as well as delegations interviewing foriegn coaches in Oz for positions in the UK. Franchise system is self serving - clubs will get lazy - supporters ripped off and young british talent (as is predominantly the case) in the championship and lower leagues will see no access to SL through their teams achievement and will drift away from the game.
BRING BACK RELEGATION.

Can't help think your wasting your breath pal to be honest. You only have to look at the comments that have been flying about on here since we got the license renewed to see what plenty of fans want , now I'm parraphrasing but for example:

Hendo should be the first name on the sheet
Korki should be given another deal
Sam Obst would be great to have back
Etc, etc, etc, etc - you get the drift.

And as for the clubs while ever they are given the option of signing mediocre imports they will most likely take it, regardless of how much money has been taken out of the game on signing dross that for 1 reason or another hasn't worked. We are more guilty than just about anybody else and considering the amount of talent we are supposed to have locally we have a pretty appauling recent record of bringing it through and whilever we are letting players like Murphy go and effectivly replacing them with Mellors or Collis then we have lots of improvement left to make.

Overseas players should be limited to 3, regardless of residency/parentage/time in the game over here/if they played for Crusaders etc. This should leave us with only the better players coming to SL, but we need the clubs to buy into this and that means the fans have to get behind it too.
