Harry Bowes 3 year deal : Thu Jun 04, 2020 4:42 pm
I don't know much about him.
What's he like?

Applegarth says he's likely to break through as a Hooker but can play loose too.

3 years is massive, even for an academy prospect. Must be highly rated by the coaching staff.

Been a long time since we produced a quality home grown hooker, Billy Conway the last unless I’m forgetting someone.

I would agree, the only decent ones that I can think of really since would be March and Wood (And it is probably fair to say the majority of his development was in the few years after the academy).

James Davey was fantastic in our Academy side, a lot of them were around that time but unfortunately most never really kicked on.

There was another young hooker that signed a pro deal with our academy a couple of years back, his name escapes me? Does anyone know if he is still at the club?

Hopefully this lad can kick on, 3 years sounds promising and with the success of recent youth in the likes of Batch and Crowther it gives me a little bit of faith that we can not just successfully plant them into a full time pro environment but keep hold of them for the future.

David March would be the other that springs to mind. There have been others but these two were regulars over a long period and significant players in the team.

Billy would have got honours under a more fashionable club in my opinion.

Totally forgot about Dave March, he was pretty good.
