Even if Willie thinks Gaskell is a better full back than Max.why when you have your 2 recognised centres out do you prefer a second row ( batch ) a player who has not played super League for a year ( croft ) and a championship centre ( Minns ) to asking Max to play there. I just don't understand why successive coaches have left Max out in favour of other players when he always gives 100 percent on the field. I known he made a mess of a try saving tackle in his last game swinging that opposition player round until he was in position to touch down but how long is he going to be punished for that when other get away with half hearted performances every week.

That was weeks ago .Gaskell is a disgrace at fullback ,In fact a disgrace in a Wakefield shirt

Gets plenty of stick for some reason but still our best option at fullback. Wouldn't have made a difference yesterday. That scoreline suggests a large proportion of the team couldn't be arsed or all had a really bad off day at the same time.

That's just one of the puzzling team selections. For all those who thought Gaskell would bring something extra to FB he clearly hasn't and it's time for that experiment to end. As an attacking FB he's not fit to lace Jowitt's boots.
Batch had a good enough game at centre last time out, why not let him continue there?
Why play Minns, who clearly isn't up to it, or Croft who's been in the wilderness for a couple of years-is he actually going to make it in SL? I'm sure I could go on but WP and the players should sit and watch that performance and Willie has to take the relevant action. It's clear some players should be nowhere near the first team. We might have signed them but we don't have to play them.

We’ve also had our biggest defeats with him at fullback. He shouldn’t have played again after that “attempt” on Bevan French on Easter Monday and once again yesterday it looked like he was scared to tackle.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it?

For me yesterday I'd have put Max back in at Fullback and played Gaskell in the centre instead of Minns who was like a revolving door and just opened up to allow players past every time they ran at him.
Without Max in the team then surely the sensible option at half-time would have been to pull Minns and put Batch back in the centre again, but that didn't happen either.
I'm not saying the defeat was purely down to Minns as you don't concede 74 points with just one player not performing.
Once again there was a lack of leadership, players stood around under the posts after conceding yet another try and nobody talking. Miller is nowhere near vocal enough to be captain, but nobody else seemed to want to step up either and give them all a rollocking yesterday.

What a waste of an afternoon that was.

If Gaskell plays FB on Sunday opposite either French or Field then Wigan could hit 100!

Totally hung his three quarters out to dry yesterday.

If Gaskell plays at all it needs to be either him or Miller at 6, and the other one misses out for me.

Yes we did PT, but up to scoring the try against Warrington, Gaskell did little else (I accept he took the high balls) but attacking wise he was not a threat.
I agree with Fordy, I'd have put Max at FB and Gaskell in centre
Anyway ALL these reactions are because as Trinity fans we're hurting.
We tend to look for causes but even tweaking the team as we all would have liked wouldn't have stopped that hiding I don't think. Salford were up for it and as usual, we weren't.
Fordy, you're right again, Miller is not Captain material. He's too quiet.

I would have done the same with Max and had Batch and Gaskell as centres but its easy to say now.
