Who are the half backs in the reserve team & Academy team, who is Gasky ?

Gasky would be Gaskell, he played in the reserves last year a few times didn't he?

Fine, I thought Gaskell left us, did he come back is he a number 9 ? There is no reserve names & photos on the Trinity club site !

Is this an issue to you?

I'm not sure we've ever had a reserve squad. Surely we have a squad of 30ish contracted players and academy and the reserves are made up of those not playing in the first team for whatever reason.

It seems like Mash sees our halves as Lino, Smith and Gaskell.

Maybe he is looking to invest in the forwards and give Smith a shot. Tbh I’m all for Smith, young English HB who reminds me of a young Miller. I noticed on his highlights that he had a good short kicking game on the line! That would be invaluable to us.

I’m kind of hoping that we look at bringing Abraham back over or that we give a young half a chance to develop.

Towards the end of the season (including the grand final which is available on TrinTV) the reserve grade halves were Butterworth and Phillips.. Philips is still an academy age player, and Butterworth is first year out of academy but not in the first grade squad

Both are talented (very) young players

Seem to recall Butterworth playing full back for trinity this season at some point. Is he a halfback/fullback?

Isn’t Danny Broughs son in the wakey set up too.

Butterworth played full back on Boxing Day but he’s a half in development

Will Brough is part of the scholarship scheme (u16??) and he plays centre

Everyone knows who Gaskell is and they know he’s not a 9. They also know he played virtually none stop at the end of the season.
