The other thing he’ll give Wakefield is 100% commitment to win everything he’s involved in whether it’s a tackle, a carry, a chase, diving on a loose ball etc and he’s got a bit of grub in him.
I have a lot of respect for your opinion and what you say is probably right but to be honest the defensive connection between the second row and centre hasn’t been that bad, we have far worse problems than that. Ashurst & Pitts have also individually gone alright defensively, their stats are high. Any gain from signing Hewitt is minimal, whereas signing a fullback, halfback or hooker would make a major difference to us. Personally thats where i’d have spent the money.
Also about the point about him having a bit of grub in him. At Wakey we get penalised for that and or discipline is bad enough already!
