Tonight was the 150th anniversary celebration event and what a lovely service it was. Very well attended and with some beautiful songs and moving speeches covering the history of the club by the mayor, former MP, and cathedral canon. The service opened with a roaring rendition of Jerusalem sung by the entire congregation as the choir proceeded, followed by perhaps one of the most beautiful renditions of abide with me sung by the full choir which barely left a dry eye in the house, and finished with a hearty singing of the national anthem.
I know there is much that separates us as fans at times, but tonight was a celebration of more than the current version of the club. It was a celebration of a club and community which has over the past 150 years left a massive legacy on the city
