pearson is a football man and there is no big money available in RL. Why would he want to buy a club in a sport he knows nothing about where there is very little potential to make any real money?
He's a front for allam
Allam also said he did not want to be seen to favour one club over the other, then about 2 months later he dropped £1m through rovers letter box.
Sport is a business and as such the senior management of sporting companies are easily transferable. Agreed that there is no big money in RL, but then again there are not the outgoings that there are in football. I don;t have access to exact figures, but lets say that Hull FC's fixed costs (rent and total salaries) are about £3.5m per year. With the variable expenditure we have we still post a profit on income of around £5m (again this is an estimate) bu this is on an average gate of 12000 ish. Many, including myself, beleive that with a team at the right end of the table being coached by a top manager we could easily get an average gate of 15000. Concervative estimate of £750k extra income, all of which falls to the bottom line, all of which belongs to AP. There is money to be had by those who own, providing the product on the field is a winning one.
If this deal goes ahead, which by the sounds of it, it will AP will give Agar until the end of the season, then I would expect to see a change of team coach. He will not rock the boat too much in the short term, given the point in the season we are. Pearson knows that its the coach which is the key personnel.
The removal of the current board is something many have hankered for. Let hope they are true to their word and start returning to support the team.
