In isolation Pearson taking over FC and Allams involvement in KR are no worry whatsoever, but together it becomes a bigger worry. I can;t believe the 2 things are not linked.

I'm in two minds with this news.

On the one hand we have a new owner and that will breath life back into a club that although making a profit has been struggling on the field for any success due to to reluctance of the BOD to invest in the coaching staff.
On the other I am a little unnervy purely down to the connection he has with Assem Allam.

However Assem Allam could quite easily have bought the club himself and would have enjjoyed the limelight of anniouncing he had bought it so I can't really Pearson buying it for him. Pearson has been involved with Nick Barmby in previous unsuccessful takeover bids so he may well be a part of Pearsons takeover this time around too, I hope so as we all know he is a big FC fan.

It could also be true that Pearson wants to leave Hull City and head this up on his own, if this is the case it can only be good. With the fansbase, merchandising etc this club could be a very good business with the lower operating costs compared to football. Pearson has always seemingly spoken openly and sensibly in the past regarding City, never ducking uncomfortable times and questions plus he turned them round from the perenial under achievers they were.

He was also I am led to beleive instrumental in getting International RL back to the KC stadium.

I am still wary but as long as we as fans are given some guarantee it is 100% free from any association from Assem Allam then I will be very happy about the news.

Folks will be suspitious but if it happens then we have an owner who has never done a single disshonourable act in all the years he has been in the City. We love our club so have to be concerned with his ties to the Allams but James Rule has built a sports club that is actually in the black and a good prospect all we need now is some success on the field and a ruthless approach to what goes on, on the field, Pearson has those qualities. He probabaly realises that with a strong attractive winning team we can match City's gates with a fraction of the overheads. If this happens he has to come out with a strong (un fuzzy) statement of intent and address those concerns if he is to get off on the right foot with the fans. We don't know the facts yet but the press will be digging for news today I just hope this announcement doesn't scupper the deal before it gets off the ground.

isn't hull fc a more profitable option at the moment than hull city? i would think it is, seems pearsons' buisness head can work that one out too

Pearson as sole owner could be good news but despite a lot of moaning we are in a very good situation as a club. A new head coach apart possibly.

The problem is his links with the Allams, it casts a huge shadow over the whole thing for me.

People have complained about this board saying there is no one with a rugby brain involved but lets face it Pearson knows even less about the game so that situation won't change.

I understand he can't do as he pleases, but I would define what he does as having 'control' over the KC.

Putting his money in the bank is more profitable than invetsing in Hull FC as well, sport is never a sound investment its normally done for either the love of the club / sport / bit of fun or PR reasons.
