Instead of waiting until the next ITD wouldn't it make more sense for the club to put out a statement and clarify exactly what has happened and what the alternative plan is if there is one?

Well the way I suspect that it may have gone is that Jason Tali, who is a player in our side and from PNG may have been been the catalyst and that as a trio that would have been useful in terms of their social needs coming newly to this country.

I am not fussed on mercenary or glory driven needs over loyalty.

But that is the world of sport apart from a core of players that remain loyal.

A verbal contract is not worth the paper it is written on and all that jazz.
But it can be and should be.

It would have been nice if they could have come for a season and help get us promoted and then moved on.

It would make sense and make us look a bit more professional but it's the dons were talking about! just have to wait until Thursday for the inevitable words 'ahh look we did all we can but the lad got a better offer we've still got a couple of irons in the fire but rich is happy with what he's got'.

It is a big disappointment though and not much chance of replacements being found in time for the start of the season.

I spoke to your coach today, he had verbally signed, the club wanted to make sure he could get a visa before him signing officially and announce it, Widnes came in with a late offer after Matthews decided not to sign for Widnes.

Trust me he was very close to signing, you have been a bit unlucky here

Well there it is on p7 of the Rugby League Express a half page article on Widnes and their signings and a big photo of Wellington Albert smiling like a Cheshire cat.
No mention if visa, clearances or nothing.
Signed it says .... signed.

Meanwhile ITD Carl was blissfully unaware he was being two-timed.

If I were part of Club Deesaster, there would be one club, one player and if a slimeball was involved, one agent that would be persona non grata.
Someone said we were unlucky not to get him ...really?
