GOOD LUCK WALKERS - Charity Walk to Rochdale : Tue May 24, 2011 8:31 am
On 1 July 2011, a group of Doncaster fans will set off on a 57 mile sponsored walk challenge; from the Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster to the Spotland Stadium, Rochdale.

The walk is scheduled over three days and is aid of the Steve Prescott Foundation and Doncaster Rugby League Supporters Trust; two causes very close to our hearts.

Those confirmed to be walking are;

Darryl Clarke
Keeley Thompson
Michelle Palmer
Karl Grainger
Martin Wilson
Tracey Armstrong

If anyone wishes to take part in the challenge, we are looking for volunteers to join us on the last stretch to Rochdale on day 3. Please email DonsSupportersTrust@Googlemail.com should you wish to take part. On the final day, we will be joined by representatives of the Rochdale Hornets Supporters Trust, and respective club mascots.

A big thank you to all those who have offered sponsorship so far; all walkers will be in attendance at the next home game on Sunday 5 June 2011 versus Oldham with sponsorship forms for those wanting to pledge their support. Alternatively, please email your pledge to DonsSupportersTrust@Googlemail.com stating your name and contact details.

The Supporters Trust will be running a coach to the game at Rochdale on Sunday 3 July 2011, for those wanting to offer their support on the final leg and support the boys to a win.

We are hoping to raise as much as possible for two fantastic causes, and we look forward to your support.

Anyone wishing to sponsor the walkers (checks for typo) can do so via this link and help both great causes:

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Thank God I'm an atheist.

Good luck Jemmo ... 25 miles on the first day?????
Remember your Cas blisters after a lot less than that?
Don't think two pairs of socks and plenty of practice will necessarily prevent blisters. Better to do that and use plasters on the heel and ball of the foot as well before you start. The 10cm X 6cm type tailored to fit. And take strip plasters as well for the toes, if they start to give problems.
I hope you go well Jemmo. :thumb:

Im normally ok with the two pairs of socks and battered comfy trainers to be honest.I had no problems last time. This time is a lot further though.

Also everyone please donate whatever you can , however small.

Right ,im off now to do some training!

Not me this time,
A) I'm not insane
B) I can play the "I've got a baby" card
C) The middle day is my birthday

People should also note, the game itself is also cake day and I'm sure they'll be few sore people who would love a bit of high sugar content by that time
