Nobody takes that rule in the least seriously, IMO. It is the rule I hold up as an example of the RFL's fondness for the meaningless and unenforceable. I've noticed it is rarely used by fans when they're own club is rumoured to be in for a player.
That said, I can't see the lad joining us. He's covered by the 'ring-fencing' thing iirc - which is itself pretty meaningless, but Rovers at least seem to be paying lip-service to it.
Plus we're cackamalla at the moment - really, really scarily, might even go down cackamalla. A couple of wins and we'll cheer up, but we're nailed on for the middle 8s now anyway, and currently look to have a decent shot at the million pound game (I think we're just about too good for bottom 3 in the 8s - still feeling bullish in that respect
). Those couple of wins look a fair way off at the moment, too.
And finally, he and James Green are being touted around Australia - there was an advert in the Sydney Daily Mail classifieds, between a second-hand lawnmower for sale and woman who does ironing in Cabramatta. Or something like that.
