NWC Division 6 : Sun Sep 12, 2010 10:28 am
Thought if its good for the other leagues then why not this one!!

Sat 18 Sep 10 02:30 PM

Ashton Bears A v Folly Lane A
Blackpool Scorpions A v Fitton Hill
Chester v Blackbrook A
Culcheth v Accrington Panthers
Halton Simms Cross A v Irlam Hornets A
Leigh East A v Widnes West Bank A
Little Hulton v Rochdale Cobras A

Some close games I think for next week can't call our game against Blackbrook I obviously think Chester will win but it will be a true test for us!

Id go with most of these....

Think alot of clubs have been strugling with the numbers!!!! Hope it all calms down and becomes a good league.

Ashton Bears A v Folly Lane A - either way I feel
Blackpool Scorpions A v Fitton Hill
Chester v Blackbrook A
Culcheth v Accrington Panthers
Halton Simms Cross A v Irlam Hornets A
Leigh East A v Widnes West Bank A
Little Hulton v Rochdale Cobras A

Cobras have a few out of 1sts this saturday n they have a huge game so 1 or 2 lads may have to up n play for em again, but im sure we will have the numbers to do ok!!!

Ashton Bears A v Folly Lane A - going off last weeks results very close to call, so I'll sit on the fence on this one
Blackpool Scorpions A v Fitton Hill - probably win more at home and think they'll pick up some points this week.
Chester v Blackbrook A - along with West Bank 'A' and Cobras 'A' my pick for contesting the top 3.
Culcheth v Accrington Panthers - two good results so far so going with form.
Halton Simms Cross A v Irlam Hornets A - home advantage a big factor
Leigh East A v Widnes West Bank A - had a very good summer and can see them contesting the top 3
Little Hulton v Rochdale Cobras A - although LH are a great set of lads I think they're going to have to wait a bit longer for their 1st win especially against another of the teams I think will be up there come the end of the season.

I'm Predicting this year that the league will be: Blackbrook (Champions) had two massive wins and scored over 100 points and only conceding 7. Rochdale (Runners up) two good results as well as Blackbrook, But I think Blackbrook are going to be far to strong. A tricky 1 but i think its a two horse race for third between Widnes West Bank and Leigh East. I Would like to see the conclusion at the end of the season.

As this is my first post I will keep it simple, I follow boith Simmies 1st team and 2nd team, as this is the Div 6 forum I will stick to the 2nds.

Last year they were up there competing with the Cuthberts, Leigh East and Crosfields....whereas this year a few players have left the club and players have moved up to the 1sts, I do however still believe that they can be a major force in this division, last week they had a number of second team lads unavailable due to work commitments which is why they had to give the points, but apparently from now on they will have a full compliment each week leading up to xmas........Dont right off Simmies just yet ha ha ha

Ashton Bears A 16 - 16 Folly Lane A

Constant rain but having said that both teams contributed to a close encounter. Ashton went into an early 10 nil lead but Folly regrouped and pulled it back to draw level at the interval. The knock-on-athon continued into the second half and Ashton went ahead with 10 minutes to go. Folly once again hit back with a well worked score. A draw was probably a fair result with both teams giving the referee little to do except signal for head and feed!

deep and crisp and even

Knock-on-athon, You can say that again!!

We (Folly) played some really dumb rugby and neither team played the conditions well so overall your probably right and a draw was a fair result.

Some good results today as i see good win for widnes .. turns out there gonna be a side to be recon with this year leigh east are a very good team and im sure they will bounce back. but for me the biggest shock of today was the short margin between blackbrook and chester . what iv bin told is the pitch was far to narrow for brook to put on there free flowing moves they are use to. its also a dissapointment rochdale had to give up there 100% record .. not really any clashes this weekend but i am looking forward to week after were brook go to simmises thats when the league starts to get shape. good luck to both teams !!

Chester 6 - 22 Blackbrook A

A great game of rugby league on a perfect dimensioned Chester University Rugby League pitch!

A very hard contest that was a battle of defence and some good rugby league. Blackbrook took the early league following a grubber kick that deflected kindly to a blackbrook player and he ran on to score under the sticks.

Chester hit back with a bizarre kick and follow through that was pounced on by the Chester Stand off following a shocking pass from the dummy half!

Blackbrook then scored after a wide play that caught the Chester defence napping, the kick was missed making the score 6-10 which it stayed for quite some time.

Blackbrook then ran away in the last 15 following a sin-binning for Blackbroo that Chester failed to capitalise on then the Chester Scrum half got 10 minutes and blackbrook scored 2 quick tries to make the score 6-22

Re: NWC Division 6 : Sun Sep 19, 2010 4:32 pm
Disappointed with some of our (East) defence on Saturday. We let in some really soft tries. That could be down to the fact that we're still finding our feet again after not playing since Feb and with some of our players graduating to the 1st and 2nd team squads, we're back in a "getting to know you" phase with some of our newer players. But fair play to West Bank - they are a well drilled side who kept on coming. The score could have been a lot closer if not for a couple of good tackles from WB to hold up over the line on two occasions and a penalty try.

As for Blackbrook, when they are at home, they are a different animal all together (especially when their 1st team are away in Barrow!) and that pitch is an absolute monster.
