Calling All Amateur teams..... : Mon Jun 20, 2011 3:57 pm
Hi Guys I'm new to this chat thing so go easy on me!!!
I am writing to inform you guys of an event we are running for Our Local Heroes - A charity for injured soldiers.... The The event is called Warriors of Steel Bramble Busters, best described as a 3-4 mile cross country obstacle course to be held in Yarrow Valley Park in Chorley. Competitors will be running through ditchs, climbing over hay bales, scrambling under nets and much much more - the course is designed to have a military training feel to it and it is perfect for pre season training, team building or just people looking for a fun challenging event to take part in for a great cause!!!! we are encouraging team entries to the event and the proceeds all go towards both the Wigan Warriors Foundation and Our Local Heroes (a charity for injured soldiers in the North West Area) We are also holding a junior event for 11-16 year olds, which will be similar to the adults even only much shorter but with just as many fun obstacles for them to tackle - we guarantee they will get wet and muddy but have so much fun!!!! A Perfect event for all your under 16 teams!!!! On the day there will appearances from the Wigan Warriors players, max, the Super League Grand Final trophy, and some of the cheerleaders. Both Particpants and spectators will have the opportunity to have their photo's taken with the players and we are hoping to get a couple of the players actually taking part in the event (IF Mike Maguire will let us!!!!) The club are really supporting the event and we will soon be featured on Granada Reports with one of our soldiers Dave Watson who unfortunately lost both his legs and an arm whilst serving in Afghanistan recently. Entries for adults are £20 per person and £5 for the Juniors - We do ask for sponsors were possible however I understand that a lot of the local teams especially the Juniors rely heavily on support so as long as they pay the entry fee they are more then welcome to raise sponsors for their own clubs. This is a really tough and enduring challenge they will be taking on so very worthy of friends and families sponsoring them to take on this challenge!!! For more details message me at warriorsofsteel@hotmaill.co.uk See you all there!!! |
