Legal and moral issues asside (and there are those), we were simply outplayed tonight. No denying it. I thought it might be a risk putting Jamie Cottle in at full back but having seen him play many times for the reserves I thought he could handle it and I think he did. Brendon showed us all how he will be missed with another class display tonight.
There will be names we probably won't see next year, Trevor, Tangi, Cooky, Haley and of course Brendon. All the player we will lose have undoubtedly made an impact and I'd like to thank all of them for everything they've done. Despite tonight, the last two years have certainly been an adventure we have all enjoyed.
I certainly hope that further action is taken against Sam Barlow for breach of contract. I've no sour grapes, I can accept losing, it happens. But this whole sorry episode has tarred the good name of rugby league again. I doubt there will be any further action taken, it's only Sheffield after all.
Thank you eagles for a great adventure. See you in 2011.
