I really don't understand why anyone is having a go at Carl over this. It appears as though he did everything he could. If the lad chooses to go back on his word, then there's not a lot that can be done about it.

Would it have been better for Carl not to mention we had an interest in some players who were playing in the World Cup? No! He tried to keep us informed. He didn't do it to mislead us.

It's not going to be easy for him to tell us the bad news in the next ITD but we should be on his side, sympathising with him, not knocking him. We feel bad that we've missed out. Carl will feel even worse as he must have invested a lot of time and effort into trying to get this deal done.

Awwww it's sweet you think he tried his best but was really really unlucky at the end! Do you think it's just a coincidence that this keeps happening?

Waiting for the same old ,same old on ITD.

Yet again defeat snatched from the hand of victory .

Why mention the player at all until you have the deal sewn up.
I know he was never mentioned by name on ITD ,but I was told at the season launch that him and his brother were both in the frame to sign and it was only a matter of them obtaining a working visa.

The days of gentlemen's agreements are long gone ,most agents would sell their soles for a little extra commission ,one thing you learn in business until the ink is on the contract then nothing is a given.

Much better to keep your cards close to your chest , keep quiet and fly under the radar,
then when you secure the deal its a feather in your cap .

Alternatively follow the Carl Hall route of drip feeding information about a player your looking to sign .
Make other teams aware of his availability regardless of mentioning names ................Tell fans the deal is almost over the line with just a few loose ends to sort out, only for the player to have a change of heart sign for another club and leave you looking like a prize Chump.

You didn't have to be Einstein to know he was a PNG player a few games shy of an automatic Visa.

I'm sure we will get the usual rubbish from the CEO as yet another target signs elsewhere, and another season of mediocrity beckons for Doncaster RLFC.

Just take a look at what must be the best value in professional sport , the DRLFC season ticket.
The take-up numbers are pathetic for a town the size of Doncaster.

What happened to the mailshot going out to all houses in the borough ,I only know of two fans that have received them .

Its time for Club Doncaster to see, that while ever they employ a pound land CEO with a unproven record and a penchant for making gaff after gaff with only excuses in return for failure, Rugby league in Doncaster will never move above the bargain basement.
Crowds will remain around 500 and the standard of play will be poor.
Time to clear the decks and get a proper business man to run the club, the alternative is to suffer the consequences of another failed campaign and lack of interest from the Doncaster public.
Please please Club Doncaster put us out of our misery, I couldn't cope with another seasons dross and excuses from the current incumbent on ITD .

Agree with everything you say but look at the Rovers as well. A season of mediocrity and a chance of being relegated. Be interesting to see how they strengthen in the January transfer window. Club Doncaster has to take a lot of the blame for the position the two clubs are in.

Is it moaning or folk peed off with the dross what's been served up over the years? There's 2 kind of people in the world those who are happy to plod along and accept anything that gets chucked at them and those who strive for better and don't stop until they get it, whilst I agree we have to give the new gaffer and the new players time to prove themselves the biggest reason why we are a stagnant club remains at the club and that's why we will remain like that until something changes. Everything about the club is very predictable, the itd answers, blaming referee's, blaming low crowds, unlucky with signings! we hear this year after year and I really can't understand how the fans can accept the bull crap fed to us without questioning the hierarchy. Anyway rant over my season ticket is on the fireplace and in a weird way I'm kinda looking to the season COYD
